The founders were all, at one time or another, sales reps, selling products to the Construction and Mining industry. Over the years, we found ourselves performing a variety of roles for the companies we worked for, from Product Development, Product Management, Channel Development, Marketing, Customer Support.
One day, in April 2019, while sitting in a New Product Development workshop, we listened to a speaker decry not knowing what customers wanted in our products. He said our company was hiring an external consultant to interview our customers, and get to know what their needs are, the work they do with our products, and the product problems they wish to see go away.
That is when it struck us, the customers have been telling us what their needs are, what they do with our products, all this time. They tell us in every conversation we have with them, in emails, in text messages, over coffee. The Problem was, we did not have a way to capture those comments, catalog them properly, and store them in a system that allowed for on-demand retrieval of those comments. On that day, the idea for RepNotes was born.
The goal was to build an app, that gives sales reps the ability to capture customer comments as they are made, catalog those comments under the correct class of information, and give the him/her the ability to retrieve them any time he/she chooses to. The big benefit to anybody who uses it, was the ability to respond to customer feedback faster, and just as importantly, accurately.
Many business solutions software or apps are built around the promise of making information easily collected and understood, we’ve taken it one step further, we’re committed to a solution that also has the mission of serving the needs of the guy (or gal) who’s the keystone of it all, the Sales Rep.
